The Weight Loss Grail

The Weight Loss Grail diet plan is sold with the claim that it can help you lose 28 pounds in 28 days.
In this article I want to review this program, see what it's based on, and find out whether or not this claim is sound and to discover if you should use it or not.

Weight loss Grail Main Concept

The main tenet of this weight loss plan is that you need to follow the steps taken by bodybuilders to lose body fat.
The reason is that bodybuilders have very low body fat percentage so they should be great role models for anyone who wishes to get leaner. This may or may not be true as bodybuilders live according to a very strict routine.

Your calorie consumption needs to be divided among the 3 main macronutrients according to these ratios: 45% carbs, 35% protein, 20% fat. However, there is no need to calculate calories or ratios to make this work. You need to be close to this ratio, not exactly on it.
This does make the diet much more doable than it seems at first glance.

You should eat 6 times a day, including meals and snacks.
This helps to regulate your metabolism and keep you from entering into starvation mode in which your metabolism slows down and you simply burn calories much much slower.

While eating 6 times a day may seem like a sure way to eat more, you're actually supposed to cut down your calorie consumption by 20%.
The program includes a detailed explanation on how to calculate the right amount of calories you need to eat in order to maintain your current weight.
Cutting this number by 20% will help you lose weight in a safe and gradual manner.

It is also recommended that you add certain supplements to your diet to help you along the way. This can make this program more expensive to follow as you do need to consider the added cost of these supplements, regardless of their health benefits.

Exercise
You should do both cardio and strength training while on the Weight Loss grail diet, but strength exercises should be your main effort as these help to boost the metabolism and get you to burn more fat faster.
However, this program does not have a really detailed section of workouts as you might have expected.

In conclusion
This seems like an easy to follow, straightforward plan. While I highly doubt that you'll be able to lose 28 pounds in 28 days with it (this seems a bit farfetched), you can lose weight with these sensible guidelines.
